Keys Piano School decided to grow as a business and required an image to reflect their current and future offerings. The company's name says what it does, and it was tempting to express this visually, and rightly so. The visual emphasis would resonate with the broad audience who could be children and adults of all ages.
We decided the best route was to subtly speak of the subject matter through the distinctive shape of an entire piano in combination with the initial "K", then segment it to represent the different areas of the business.
Keys wanted their brand to be expandable, manageable and easy to implement across various collateral. We answered this problem by keeping things as bold and straightforward as possible while maintaining a professional look; we largely achieved this through the initial research, and selection of a premium typeface.
Colourways were selected using science and psychology, to categorise the departments and sectors which all worked harmoniously together when applied to the master logo.
Audience analysis, typography, colour and mathematical ratios all led to the creation of a playful, approachable and easily applied brand identity that has greatly expanded since it's the first application.
