Next Book Thing

Brand identity

Next Book Thing is an innovative online platform that brings together readers, translators and publishers with a mission to establish reading as a premium entertainment medium.

The company's goal is to interlink cultures through book translations and create a new emotional experience and excitement for readers when previewing books that are not yet published.

For any new project, especially for a completely innovative idea such as this, questions need to be asked and decisions made, before going full steam ahead. After many conversations with the client and extensive research to identify the primary target audience and the end-users of the platform, we concluded that a bold, fresh, fun and versatile brand identity would be more suited than something more classical. However, the challenge was that it had to be appealing and work well, alongside more traditional publishing logos.

We achieved this primarily through colour combinations and bold typography. We also wanted the brand to be as versatile as possible, since the applications was still unknown as the brand would have to sail through uncharted waters. After many ideas, the chosen route was created with a horizontal and a vertical version of the logo.

The brand launch got a warm welcome from businesses and readers alike.
